We are happy that you are interested in working at the University of Detroit Mercy. At UDM, we truly do want great things for you! Coming to work at UDM means more than simply accepting a job. You’re becoming part of a rich tradition of excellence and a community of people working to make a difference.

Our heritage dates back to 1877 with the founding of Detroit College by the Society of Jesus. The College expanded to the University of Detroit and in 1927, established a second campus. In 1941, the Sisters of Mercy opened the Mercy College of Detroit. In 1990 the University of Detroit and Mercy College consolidated to become the University of Detroit Mercy. Since the beginning, the University has been a place where students, faculty, staff and members of the larger community come together to form men and women for and with others in the service of faith, the promotion of justice, and compassionate service to persons in need throughout our community, region, and the world. Today, UDM is the largest Roman Catholic University in Michigan.
